1. Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
amazing: 놀라운
grace: 은혜
wretch: 가엾은 사람, 비참한 사람
lose: 잃다
blind: 눈 먼
2. ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
’twas: it was의 간략형.
fear: 두려워 하다
relieve: 경감하다, 해방하다
precious: 귀중한, 가치 있는
appear: 나타나다, ~로 보이다
believe: 믿다
3. Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead us home.
danger: 위험
toil: 수고, 고생
snare: 덫, 함정
’tis: it is의 간략형
thus far: 여기 까지
4. When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.
bright: 빛나는, 화창한, 밝은
shine: 빛나다, 비추다
no less: ~ 보다 적지 않은
praise: 찬양
