          부자 죽음의 숨은 내막 / 노대성

     오랜 옛날 한 가난이라는 동네에 가난이라는 젊은이가 주물공장에서

  일하다가 돌아와 그의 오두막집에서 잠이 들었는데 눈부신 모습으로

  한 천사가 나타나 '잠을 깨라 젊은이여. 너에게 내 손에 있는 다이아

  몬드와 이 큰 금덩어리를 네가 가난한 너의 가난동네에 나누어 주겠다고

  약속을 하면 내가 주겠다고 하자 얼른 이 가난한 젊은이는 약속을

  하였답니다.

     그래, 당장 다음날로 인근의 부자 동네의 장터에서 그 일부를 팔아

  호화스런 집을 사서 살면서 좋은 사람으로 통하였지만 막상 그의 부를

  나누어 주지는 않고 나머지 다이어몬드와 금덩어리를 뒷마당에

  묻어 두었지요.

     그런 어느 날 다시 그 천사가 꿈에 나타나 그는 소스라치게 놀랐지요.

  '네가 약속을 지키지 않았으니 너에게 준 보화들을 다시 가져가겠다.'고

  하는 것이었습니다.

     다음날 아침 그 부자 집의 갑작스런 화재와 그의 죽음의 원인을 아는

  동네 사람들은 아무도 없었답니다.

I will tell you an interesting story now.

Long ago, there was a rich man who was called

Puza who lived in a poor town.

He was a very nice man and was respected by all the town people.

His entire family was respected and the envy of all the townspeople.

There was gold and several beautiful diamonds in the rich man’s back yard.

When a poor man called Kanan returned from his work as a mill laborer he fell asleep in his cottage. In a dream an angel shown brightly and told him, "Young man, wake up now! Wake up!"

The young man awoke to find an angel

holding many diamonds and gold.

The young man was astonished.

The angel told him "Young man, I give these to you now,

but you need to promise that you will share

these gifts with all your town people"

The startled young man stammered, "If you give me these precious stones I promise to do that. I will share this wealth with all my poor townsfolk"

The angel spoke to the young man, “Young man, you have now promised

to share my gift with the poor and so I will give these precious

gifts to you all and your name, Kanan will be no good for you from now. Your name then and now will be changed to Puza.”

THE ANGEL GAVE THE YOUNG MAN ALL OF THE DIAMONDS

AND GOLD AND DISAPPEARED.

The young man became very rich but his town stayed poor as he told nobody about what had happened.

Puza had sold some of the diamonds and gold

in the market of a rich town nearby.

He built a luxury house for his family and hided the rest of unsold diamonds

and those gold in his back yard.

He did not share his wealth with anybody, instead he used his wealth to buy

small gifts for his townspeople and was nice to them, so that they all recognized and praised him.

One night, the angel reappeared to Puza in a dream.

The angel told the nice rich man, "Wake up, Puza"

The nice rich man woke up.

He saw the angel who appeared long ago.

He recognized the angel and was afraid.

The angel told him, "Rich man, you did not share your wealth properly with the poor here in your town."

"I am now taking back those diamonds and gold

that are hiding in your back yard. I demand the money from the proceeds of your sales. "

Early next morning, the whole town was talking

about the fire that had burnt down Puza's house.

No one could ever figure out why Puza's

house had burnt since nobody knew
