STUDENT MISSIONARY WANTED

Position Description

1. Type: Teaching ESL part-time & Running English Clubs as entering wedge.

2. Length of Service: At least 1 year

3. Start date: 24 February 2019 (begin 1 February if possible)

4. URGENT

Duties

1. Teach English as a bridging-activity/entering-wedge

2. Administer at least two English language clubs (one in the university and one outside) as a platform for Chinese speaking people to practice English, and which will be used as an entering wedges.

3. Reach out to College students through friendship Evangelism and English outreaches.

4. Help organize English Services in the downtown area.

5. Work with the IAFC and the fellowships in the area.

6. Help teach English to church children 

7. You will be expected to host weekly dinners for the non adventist contacts as a bridging event.

8. Report to the local pastor.

Qualifications, Skills, Requirements and Experience 

1. Have experience in soul winning and Bible Study work.

2. Be someone friendly, outgoing and who easily makes friends.

3. Be someone who comes from a country where English is an official language.

4. 2 Recommendation (1 from the last school that one attended and another from a church person) both must not be relatives or peers/friends.

5. Having a degree in English, Education or any other field would be an added advantage.

6. Having experience in teaching ESL would be an added advantage

7. Speaking Chinese fluently will be an added advantage.

Dress Code

1. Semi/smart-casual dress for missionary activities and social gatherings. Christian deportment dictates modest clothing at all times.

2. Since you represent the SDA church, missionary shouldn't wear shorts, immodest garments, jewelry, cosmetics, nail polish. No tattered or fade clothing. Use common sense.

Sponsor’s offer

1. We will pay your fees into any major that you choose for one year or all through the period of your undergraduate or postgraduate degree studies.

2. We will rent a room for you in the community near the University and the local church. 

3. You will receive a stipend of ¥2000 per month.

Additional Comments

1. The successful candidate will bear the costs of traveling to Qingdao to begin their mission service.

2. The successful candidate will bear the costs of leaving Qingdao at the end of their mission service

3. We will set up a WhatsApp or Skype Chat interview after the applicant has provided their resume/CV, and after we receive the two references. This interview will give both parties an opportunity to get acquainted and ask questions.
